Choosing Your Granite Countertops is an Adventure!

Granite comes from volcanic rock. Previously, you’d find it only in 5-star hotels and palaces. Today, it’s a popular choice for kitchens everywhere.

Granite comes from volcanic rock. Previously, you’d find it only in 5-star hotels and palaces. Today, it’s a popular choice for kitchens everywhere.

Why Granite?

With granite, each countertop is inherently unique – so yours will not be exactly the one Joneses installed last week, even though it may be very, very similar. That also means you may want to visit our showroom to see the actual piece you’re buying.
Granite is quarried all around the world, producing a great array of available colors.
Granite is the second hardest material after diamonds. That means that if your kitchen knife and your granite counter top meet too hard one day, the granite will win – coming out uncut – just as you would want and saving you significant repair bills. (You can always sharpen the knife.)
Granite is extremely heat resistant. That means that if your hottest skillet and your granite counter top meet one day, the granite will win. This is just as you would want and again could save you considerable repair bills.
Granite is very easy to clean without special cleaning materials and few rules. (Your countertop will be allergic to very few things, mainly certain oily or acidic substances since it is porous. Be sure to read up on that.)

Choosing a Stone Countertop

Today, granite has serious competition from other beautiful and exciting stone surfaces offering similar but different advantages. Examples would be engineered natural quartz stone counter made of Silestone® and Cambria® or even marble. Quartz is available in even more colors than granite and tends to be more uniform from one end of the counter to the other. You can see that you’ll enjoy browsing the choices in our showroom!
