A Glimpse of the Kitchens in 2022

It’s Jun of 2021 and all the hype nowadays are about how the world is soon going to end. Well, whether you believe it or not, we can’t wait for the promising innovations lie ahead when it comes to kitchen appliances.

Hands-free faucets, steam ovens, and induction range tops may seem fancy now, but they are only the beginning. These futuristic gadgets may seem surreal, as if it came from a science fiction movie. But rest assured these aren’t prototypes from a lab. We’re confident that these will be staples in everyone’s home in the near future.

For the coffee lovers: If you don’t have time in the morning or you’re too groggy to make the perfect cup, there are coffee makers that respond to your voice. The two in the market includes one from Hamilton Beach ($50) and one from Hammacher Schlemmer ($99). If you’re still too sleepy to even make a sound, behold the fingerprint recognizing from Philips Saeco Xelsis Brown Machine ($3,200). There is also an espresso machine that uses fingerprint technology from Hammacher Schlemmer with the same price. All will automatically start brewing your coffee after you’ve programmed it according to instructions.

The cabinets: A company called Anvil Motion has invented cabinets that open and close only with a slight touch. It has a remote that boasts features such as programmed that cabinets to recognize specific fingerprints so that children aren’t able to open it. It sounds incredible and beneficial in some ways. But we’re just thinking: how hard is it to open cabinets?

The refrigerator: Fridges are likely to evolve as one of those appliances that will be the center of attraction in your kitchen. New fridges from KitchenAid and Jenn-Air offer a couple of their drawers into a freezer by adjusting the temperature control within the drawer. But a more impressive refrigerator pack with advanced features comes from Samsung. Priced at $3,699, it has a Wi-Fi enabled LCD screen with apps. It has built-in speakers and you can even control the door alarm with it! Now that’s a smart fridge!

What do you think of these kitchen appliances? Do you think it’s unnecessary or amazing? Just imagine what other things are going to be invented. Granite countertops with transparent screens on them that can control everything? From the opening of cabinets, the light switches, and the timer for the oven? We can’t wait what technology has in store for us in the future.
